Weather information service with dedicated maps
We present a case study of the creation of the meteo.pl website, the largest weather service in Poland, generating more than 200 million page views per month. Our goal was to create a site that would offer users the best weather forecasts in the form of meteograms and interactive, animated maps.
Challenge:
The challenge was to design a site that would meet the expectations of the millions of users who regularly visit meteo.pl in search of accurate and up-to-date weather information. Our priority was also to provide easy and intuitive navigation so that users can quickly and easily find the information they need.
Strategy:
We began the realization of the project by carefully discussing all the client’s expectations. Together we analyzed the required functionality and selected the best solutions. Based on this information, we created an implementation plan, budget and project schedule, which we presented to the client for approval.
Activities:
After a thorough analysis of the client’s needs and selection of functionality, our team decided to develop the portal in accordance with the latest trends and standards in web design. We designed a minimalist and aesthetically pleasing design that was intended to provide users with an easy-to-use site.
We have included many features on meteo.co.uk, such as weather forecasts in the form of meteograms and icons, interactive animated maps, and a glossary to help you understand meteorological terminology. We have also used an advanced search system that allows users to quickly find weather information for a selected location.
Conclusions:
The meteo.pl website provides users with easily perceived and valuable weather information, which increases user engagement and satisfaction. The solutions we designed helped the company establish itself in the market and attract new customers. The implementation of the portal has also undoubtedly improved the company’s image and influenced the building of customer loyalty.
With the new website, the company has the opportunity to reach a wider audience, which can help increase its reach and financial impact.

Display of weather forecasts in the form of meteograms
We have implemented the functionality of displaying weather forecasts in the form of meteograms – they are very useful for users who want to quickly and easily understand predictions about weather conditions.
To implement this functionality, we developed an algorithm that generates meteograms based on weather data. It takes into account various parameters such as temperature, pressure, humidity, wind speed and precipitation to show comprehensive information on weather conditions for the selected location and time period.
Animated, interactive weather maps
In addition to meteograms, we also introduced interactive, animated maps on the meteo.pl..
These maps allow users to accurately track changes in weather conditions in a given area in real time. This allows users to see where it is currently raining, wind directions and speeds, where storms are occurring and much more. The maps are constantly updated and allow for easy tracking of changes in weather conditions.
Glossary of meteorological terms
We have also developed a glossary of terms on meteo.co.uk to help you understand meteorological terminology. This glossary provides brief and concise definitions of important terms and concepts in meteorology, such as atmospheric front, atmospheric circulation, precipitation, wind or cloud.
Thanks to this glossary, users of our site can better understand and read weather forecasts, and be better prepared for various weather situations.
Search for weather by geolocation
We have implemented the ability to search for weather by city name. This search engine makes it possible to quickly find information about current and future weather conditions in a location of the user’s choice.
What’s more, on meteo.co.uk users also have the ability to add cities of their choice to their favorites. This allows users to quickly and easily check the current weather conditions in their favorite cities without having to type their names into the search engine.
Weather news
We have introduced a “News” tab that allows you to easily and quickly follow the most important meteorological events.
The subject areas are divided into categories that make it easier for users to browse weather information. These categories include information about extreme weather conditions around the world, meteorological warnings, interesting weather-related information, commentary and analysis from professional synopticists.
